Am i the only one who is sick of hearing municipal employees complaining about their jobs and calling Trenton a shithole? If you dont like it, quit and move out of the city. I'm guessing it wont be too hard to find someone to replace you with.

Maybe there should be an increase in the fees that landlords pay, but that would just be passed-on to the renters

How about more aggressive inspecting of properties as a mean of improving neighborhoods. Sure there will be some fines, but it would be a great way of ensuring that absentee landlords improve their properties. Once the rental properties start to look better, so will the neighborhoods.

Trenton/Union. Hmmm you aren't one of the north Jersey supporters of Manny are you? That could explain your sour grapes.

I have no problems with the city housing inspectors, what few are left. They show up and take a look, write a list of things to be fixed, and then reinspect when the list is done, no problem. Most of them are regular good guys, and i can say that they rarely ever complain about their jobs and their home city, at least to me. Just so you know, there are no "landlord fees" to increase. But i will ask this question again since it seems to have a lot of the complainers stumped. There are 2 houses side by side. Both have broken glass, peeling paint, and garbage on the property. 1 is owner occupied, and the other is a rental. Why is 1 owner a criminal and the other not?

In a couple of weeks when you finally think of an answer, let me know. I want to know how your average policeman justifies blaming Trentons quality of life problems on anyone without taking a good look at themselves.

There is landlord license required in Trenton (aka landlord fees.) The fee has risen every year since it was established, the money was supposed to be earmarked to hire more inspectors, but that never happened. The money was just absorbed into the city's budget, and inspectors were laid off.

The TPD as an organization sucks, ask any outside observer. That said, there are many individuals within the organization that should be commended but never will be because of morons like you. My specific problem with the TPD is that no matter how much more money is spent, who runs things, or the amount or resources expended, there does not seem to be any improvements in the city. Dont just blame management either. Poor leadership and poor morale go hand in hand.

My comment about whining was specifically aimed at the TPD, whose members never miss an opportunity to bellyache about possible layoffs while the rest of us, who are not on the government ***, are suffering. Suck it up. Stop complaining about work rules too. Do the job that needs to be done, not the job your union thinks you should do, and if you dont like the job or Trenton, quit and go somewhere else.

Your idiotic comment about my wife and daughter just go to show what a pig you are. My daughter is 4 years old, is that what you're into officer? I would'nt be surprised.

Hey Pig, i think you have seen too many cop shows on TV. Tell me what you have to go through that nobody else in the world has to deal with? Try dealing with having to keep your job based on merit for a change, and not whining like a bitch to your union every time someone asks you to do something. And dont act like you do it out of the goodness of your heart either, if it wasnt for the paycheck, you would be miles away from Trenton. God bless people who do their jobs without complaint, those that have enough pride and sense not to bite the hand that feeds, those that apply the law evenly to all people and dont give preferential treatment to friends and coworkers. God bless those that lead by example, quietly and with dignity. And for gods sake lets drop the hero worship. Some of you act like your 36 community college credits is equal to a degree from Harvard. I spent my whole life around cops, even some famous ones. Saw the good, the bad, and the ugly. But i have never heard such self congradulations in my whole life as i hear from some members of the TPD, and from the outside looking in, there is not much to be proud of.
