According to the Trentonian web site, Bill Guhl resigned after less than one month on the job:

So much for Mack seeing the light regarding fiscal responsibilty.

I think that Mr. Guhl's decision is a personal one and not necessarily related to any one thing or reflective of what is going on in the administration.

It was interresting to see someone other than Eric Jackson take his place. Has anyone seen Jackson at city hall lately? I had expected him to be responsible for city council meetings instead of Mr. Guhl.

Mr Guhl was the only person who brought credibility to the Mini Mack administration. Now he is gone. It has already been a month of missteps by this administration and I fear the worse is yet to come. More tax increases, more crime and less accountability from his royal shortness. We should only be so lucky to have the state takeover and right this ship.

mmcgrath is dead on. And, he is dead wrong and in severe denial. Just his statement is so carefully caged and as Marshall McCluhan would have said. "weasel worded", that .. "it is not related to any one thing or reflective of what is going on in the administration" .. tells me that you are a fool in jesters pantaloos, real dumb or in total denial.

The guy walked back in. He was used to juggling and keeping a few balls in the air and figured that his "institutional knowledge" would see him through. I think he wanted to help since he seemed to be a relatively fair sort of chap unlike his fast moving counterpart that could talk without his lips moving.

He got his leg ripped off and handed to him and the message from the shark pool was clear. Get out of the water. He did.

I am all for a state take over. is apparent that city politicians can't manage anything since they are used to getting everything for free.

duhhhh, o do realize that but the STATE has all the cards. It is just sandbagging. Unlike the city, we are begging. They have the funds to disperse, we dont have anything. IDIOT to the 3rd power.

Seuth,

I was at the council meeting. I just don't think that any one thing made him leave like the article implied. At the end of the day he just did not want to be there. Sure, some things could have annoyed him, but nothing that he shouldn't have expected. Plus, he wasn't there long enough to have run out of patience with the admin so quick.

Weasel worded? I guess if I threw in a reference to a limb getting ripped off with no explanation as to what it is refering to it might be better.... I really can't imagine something like that happening without hearing about it through the grapevine. Bill Guhl is kinda like the great coach coming out of retirement and then realizing that he doesn't have the energy anymore. At least that's my take.
