does anyone know of a patrolman who got a gold badge recently. i can't
believe this because of the threat of so many demotions and layoffs. the rumor of who it is is even harder to believe because of the position he holds. can anyone confirm this. |

It's badge isn't it? LOL I pray that no one gets laid off! Christie can do something I think most of us are sure of that. Causing massive layoffs of Police and Fire throughout the state would be handing the Key to the city's and towns to the gangs and other criminals.

I don't exactly know who you're referring to noway, but I have an idea, so let's do some thinking aloud.
Under the leadership of Joseph J. Santiago, the greatest crime fighter of the 20th century  , officers were given a "gold bage" for some of the most insane reasons. For some it was a reward for their loyalty, for others... well, I'll just leave that up to your imagination.
I guess you forgot how JJ worked? Officers were made detective regardless of their time on the job, or more importantly, their qualifications. I remember officers with less than one year on the job getting made detective and they didn't even have the necessary experience to be a good street cop. I remember cops that couldn't even handle working the street getting made detectives. Cops that couldn't write a decent police report were getting made detective. How about JJ's buddy Anthony Barber. He came to TPD and was given a "gold bage" immediately. And who could ever forget when all those qualified officers were skipped back in 2005 so a certain fraternal set could be promoted to sergeant together. No questions about those "bages" was ever raised. How come?
With that said, if it's who I think it is then he definitely has the time, experience and qualifications to wear that gold badge, and wear it with honor.
